Exercise, Exercise, Exercise....!!
So I have arrived at RAF Cranwell the day before my medical appointment to a tannoy stating a crash exercise - excellent timing don't you think!! I was anxious enough returning to the RAF base without a significant reminder.....
So as I have not been medically discharged yet I have to drive approximately 2 hours to attend the military medical centre. To be fair the doc who has been looking after me is brilliant. I wish he could be my permanent doctor because I trust him completely. Shame the same cannot be said for the mental health system. The guys originally looking after me where great but since I went off work and changed regions I now have to see a different team which is utterly ridiculous. I have been under treatment with the Cranwell mental health team for near on 2 years yet they can no longer continue my care - excellent!!! I wouldn't mind but I still have to travel 2 hours to attend there.
So I attended Catterick at the beginning of August and had to sit with a new consultant for almost 3 hours going through everything from the beginning again. I received a phone call from a social worker yesterday very apologetic saying she has only just had site of my referral over 4 weeks later! She then proceeded to tell me she was leaving Catterick this coming Friday. Useful don't you think! I reminded her at this point that I was awaiting an appointment with a CPN! I suddenly receive a phone call this morning letting me know I have an appointment this coming Monday! The 'lady' on the phone stated how early the appointment was and I tried to inform her that I would have to travel from Manchester to which she replied "well you are in the army".........!!
